Construction giant EEI Corporation officially opened its new EEI Training Academy, a state-of-the-art training facility spanning nearly three hectares and located in Tanza, Cavite. The milestone event was marked by the awarding of Certificate of TVET Program Registration to the Academy as an official TESDA-Accredited Training and Assessment Center.

The EEI Training Academy is a strategic initiative designed to elevate skills and knowledge of the company’s Filipino workforce and to support capacity-building programs that enhance EEI’s ability to deliver projects efficiently and sustainably in a fast-evolving industry.

The training facility can accommodate up to 500 participants and offers holistic training and development aimed at equipping craft workers and professional staff with the skills, knowledge and competencies required for their construction-related roles and responsibilities.

“The Academy reflects our vision to not only attract the best talent, but also to nurture and retain them. EEI will continue to drive change and improvement in the Philippine construction industry by providing necessary training to elevate the skills of our workforce. While we are known to be experts at building physical foundations, we are equally committed to establishing a strong foundation for our human capital,” said EEI Training Academy President Jesus Teodoro C. Reyes.

The Academy will conduct industry-caliber workshops for welding, civil works, and modular structures for mechanical and electrical works. Civil works training includes carpentry, masonry, tile setting, and rebar works. Mechanical works training covers mechanical fitting, millwrights, storage & pressure vessel tank fitting, structural & steel works. Other construction-related trainings will be on welding technology, electrical & instrumentation, rigging, pipe fitting, plumbing, scaffolding, painting, tinsmith works, and heavy equipment operation.

Beyond technical training and upskilling, the Academy also integrates values formation into its programs. “We believe that values formation is an essential part of the EEI Training Academy that will ultimately lead to improved and better performance at work, harmonious relationships in the workplace, and an important element in developing the well-being of our employees,” said Reyes.

The Academy’s non-construction-related training includes programs for the development of professional staff, supervisory skills, safety-related courses, construction management and project management courses, behavioral skills on values formation, communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and various self-improvement courses.

As an official accredited training and assessment center of TESDA, the country’s authority in technical education and skills development, the Academy will provide training and evaluation according to TESDA Training Regulations which guarantees competency-oriented education, curriculum aligned with industry standards, uniform evaluation techniques, and adherence to national occupational standards. TESDA oversight guarantees consistent program assessment, compliance with trainer qualifications, standardization of facilities and equipment, and continuous enhancement of training methods; ultimately fostering institutional superiority and sustainability.

“We recognize that capacity-building is fundamental to sustaining excellence in construction. By continuously enhancing the skills of our workforce, we ensure that we remain adaptive, innovative, and competitive in a rapidly evolving industry. Through the Academy, we empower our people, build resilience within the organization, and secure a strong foundation for long-term growth,” said EEI Training Academy Vice President, Victor C. Evidente.
