Brother Philippines, a globally recognized brand in printing, labeling, and sewing technology, celebrates its 25th anniversary in the Philippines, marking a milestone of innovation, creativity, and support for Filipino entrepreneurs and consumers.
Since its entry in the local market in 2000, Brother Philippines has evolved from a modest operation into a multibillion-peso company. Recording over P65 million in sales within its first few years of operations, the company expanded from its first provincial office in Cebu to a nationwide network including Davao, Naga, Pampanga, Iloilo, Cagayan de Oro, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga alongside several concept stores in major malls.
Over the years, Brother Philippines has continued to innovate with a wide range of printers, labelers, sewing machines, Wi-Fi-enabled embroidery machines, cutting machines, craft machines and the PureDrive spot cooler.

“Brother’s 25th year in the Philippines is not just a celebration of our growth as a company, but also a testament to the trust Filipinos have placed in us. We achieved this milestone by upholding our commitment to delivering innovative products and exceptional customer satisfaction, enabling businesses to thrive and unleash their creativity through our offerings. Having said that, I’d also like to emphasize that our goal has always been to provide more than just technology, we are here to provide solutions. As our slogan ‘At Your Side’ goes, we are your reliable partner in achieving whatever goal, dream or endeavor you may have,” said Brother Philippines President Glenn Hocson.
Driving productivity, supporting SMEs
Brother Philippines has long been synonymous with reliability—powering up productivity and creativity across homes and businesses. The company played a major role in accelerating the success of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), particularly through the PR Machine Embroidery Caravan launched in 2012. The program provides seminars and hands-on guidance for aspiring entrepreneurs entering the custom embroidery business. It has also been supporting small businesses by promoting printing solutions as essential tools for business operations, alongside Brother craft machines that empower these businesses to unleash their creativity and strengthen their livelihoods.
Among the many SME success stories is that of Niño Palao, owner of NA Palao Trading. Palao transformed his garments business into a flourishing embroidery venture using Brother embroidery machines. This was key to helping Palao make a profitable business out of making custom-made shirts, polo shirts, sportswear, jackets, as well as school and office uniforms with print and embroidery.
Another entrepreneur, Melanie Lim-Magboo of Happy Home Textile, credits Brother’s embroidery machines for helping expand their customization services.
“It’s a really good investment. Wala kaming masyadong na-encounter na problema sa machine especially if you maintain it properly. The customer service is exceptional. Through the Brother embroidery machine, we can accept customization of products na magugustuhan ng customers,” Lim-Magboo said.
The product lineup and the presence of Brother Philippines in key regional areas nationwide continue to provide specialized solutions for local SMEs’ needs and requirements.
Because of its impact on local entrepreneurship, Brother Philippines received the Social Empowerment Award at the Asia Responsible Entrepreneurship Awards by Enterprise Asia in 2014.
“We strive to create a lasting impact by empowering local businesses. We know and understand that our products at Brother are not just products and hardware. These are tools that have the power to establish business ventures, expand and elevate product offerings, and ultimately contribute to the income-earning potential of a business. Our products can influence the growth and success of an enterprise, and we’d like to be a part of that success story,” Hocson remarked.
Advocating sustainability and community empowerment
As a manufacturer, Brother Philippines understands the weight of the responsibility not just to contribute to national economy and growth of entrepreneurship, but also to push for meaningful advocacies and creat a sustainable future for Filipinos.
Green Project, one of Brother’s flagship sustainability projects launched in 2007, is a comprehensive range of initiative designed to minimize the company’s environmental impact at every stage of operation—from product development to responsible end-of-life management. The project started out with collecting and recycling used printer cartridges with corporate partners and expanded by collecting empty ink bottles and promoting responsible recycling habits among customers. More than just a recycling program, the Green Project is a multifaceted sustainability project that aims to actively support the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) and 13 (Climate Action).
Brother Philippines helps reduce marine pollution and protect biodiversity through annual coastal cleanups in Batangas in support of UN SDG 13 (Climate Action) and SDG 14 (Life Below Water). In 2025, Brother participated in a mangrove reforestation project, planting 1,200 mangrove propagules in San Juan, Batangas.
The company has also maintained an 11-year commitment to support Iñigan Elementary School in Rizal by donating school materials and initiating employee volunteerism to support the school’s teachers and students. The project has since expanded over the years with projects such as installation of solar panels, upgrades to the water system, and the provision of technology to strengthen classroom learning environment.
During the pandemic, Brother Philippines pivoted its support to meet urgent needs by donating printers and learning kits to aid in distance education. In 2023, the company followed up with more technology-focused donations, including laptops and printers to assist with both teaching and school administration duties.
Going beyond 25
Beyond its 25 years, Brother is gearing up for an exciting future.
Brother is committed to innovating its product line with modern technology to adapt to the evolving needs of the consumers, upgrading the diversity, quality, and features of its products.
The company utilizes creative and customization solutions in its products such as high-efficiency and sustainable printers, as well as sublimation printers designed for SMEs and hobbyists who are into creating vibrant, customized products. The new generation printer and embroidery products are integrated with the Artspira App, a free application for wireless design.
To encourage entrepreneurs and businesses, Brother’s high performance Professional Embroidery (PR Series) also now features wireless LAN, built-in designs, and screen controls. Also, the company has subscription programs like Toner Management, All in Click and Print Box.
Brother also expanded its offerings with the recently launched PureDrive spot cooler, an eco-friendly cooling solution that’s ideal for use in tight spaces, hot open areas, and crowded facilities.
“We are in the business of providing reliable products and solutions and for the next 25 years, we will continue to champion innovation in everything we do. As they say, innovation is not just about what technology can do but what technology can do for people. Brother is all about making work and life seamless for users and customers and we will stay committed to that mission,” Hocson concluded.
