This Christmas, sample Simpol’s Chef Tatung’s heart-healthy, diabetic-friendly recipes

While Christmas is a season to commemorate the Christian tradition of celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, feasting on good food and being with loved ones also come to mind.

It’s easy to lose one’s self in the merriment and festivities but taking care of health should always be a priority regardless of the season. It doesn’t mean you can make it less fun though. Take your cue from Chef Tatung to prepare some dishes this holiday that’s also good for the heart and glucose levels.

Award-winning and best-selling author and culinary heritage advocate Chef Myke “Tatung” Sarthou collaborated on a special video project with “For Your SweetHeart,” a campaign that raises awareness on the critical link between Type 2 diabetes and heart disease.

Through his Simpol Facebook page, Chef Tatung shared and cooked diabetic-friendly meals in a fun way. The chef was challenged to cook two recipes and one surprise recipe in just 30 minutes! Find out if he succeeded in this challenge.

Diabetes nurse educator and ISDF (Institute for Studies on Diabetes Foundation Inc.) faculty member Ms. Leyden Florido engaged in enlightening conversations with Chef Tatung on how to manage diabetes and on debunking myths about the disease.
